Mini-Workshop: Stitch Shibori With Glenda Mah
The SAQA Portland June meeting will be a mini-workshop lead by our very own, Glenda Mah. Glenda will be demonstrating various Nui Shibori stitch techniques and guiding us in creating 6” personalized block(s) using patterns provided.
We will be — stitching, tying off, indigo dyeing our pieces, then, taking home and washing out the project.
Supplies needed — basic sewing kit, to include seam ripper, small pointy scissors, large-eyed hand-stitching needles, water soluble marker, spool of upholstery or buttonhole thread (color your choice), a fat quarter of cellulose based fabric (i.e.: linen, cotton or linen/cotton blend), plastic zip-lock type bag to transport your work home, gloves for dyeing will be provided but you can bring your own
